Introducing the husband and wife team – The dental dams duo

Xuan.jpg

Dr. Xuan Dam

Dr. Xuan Dam graduated from The University of Queensland. Xuan’s passion in dentistry is  dental disease prevention and smile make-over. Xuan finds the best part of her job is giving her patients the best possible smiles. She believes that a thorough understanding dental diseases is essential to help prevent, diagnose and restore the smiles. For this reason she attends extensive and regular professional development programs to improve her skills. Dr. Xuan Dam had been providing orthodontic treatment since 2014, placing dental implant since 2017 and is a clear aligner provider since 2019.

Xuan’s gentle manner, her sense of humour and her thorough dental knowledge are the main reasons her patients keep coming back to see her. We find that even the most nervous patients tend to leave her surgery with a little chuckle.

Outside of work, Xuan enjoys her time with her husband and son (more so with the later, she said with a wink). She also takes pride in her little herb and veggie garden.

Amy.jpg

Amy Mai

Amy began her dental assisting career in the 1990s at our sister practice in Inala. After taking a break in the early 2000s to help manage her family business. In 2016, Amy returned to dental assisting and we were delighted to have her as a valued member of our team ever since.

Also fluent in Vietnamese, Amy provides exceptional comfort to our patients who speak the language. Her kind and compassionate demeanor significantly enhances the overall patient experience, making a lasting impression on everyone she meets.

Amy's skills in dental assisting are remarkable— she can always anticipate the needs of the dentist she works with, providing seamless support during procedures. While she excels in both chair-side assisting and front desk duties, she has a particular passion for chair-side work, where she can offer hands-on care. She enjoys engaging in light-hearted conversations with the dentist during treatments, adding a sense of humor to the visit, especially when patients can only respond after their procedures.

Yvonne Elmes

Yvonne worked as a practice manager for 20 years, overseeing large corporate dental companies in the UK. We are delighted that she chose to join our practice over other larger firms, which is a testament to the positive working environment we foster here.
